Flea, Tick & Heartworm Preventatives

The following is a brief description of the flea, tick, and heartworm

preventatives available at Miller Animal Hospital.

FELINE

ADVANTAGE MULTI - This is a monthly topical that kills adult fleas and treats flea infestations and ear mites.  It also treats and controls roundworms and hookworms and helps prevent heartworm disease.  The current promotion is buy 6, get 2 free or buy 9 and get 3 free.

BRAVECTO  - This is a topical flea and tick product that is applied to the back of the neck. It protects for 12 weeks at a time.  Currently there are two rebates - a $15 rebate for 2 doses, and a $35 rebate for 4 doses.  All doses have to be purchased at the same time and be reflected on the same invoice.

SERESTO COLLAR - This collar for cats kills and repels fleas and ticks for 8 months.  It is odorless, non-greasy and easy to use.  There is currently a $15 rebate for each collar purchased from our clinic.  

CANINE

FLEA & TICK:

NEXGARD CHEWABLES - This product is fed monthly to dogs and puppies.  It kills fleas and Lone Star, Black-legged, American Dog, and Brown Dog ticks.

ADVANTAGE MULTI (DOGS) - This is a monthly topical that helps prevent heartworm disease, kills adult fleas and treats flea infestations, treats and controls roundworms, hookworms and whipworms, and treats sarcoptic mange.

SERESTO COLLAR (DOGS) - This collar comes in two sizes and kills and repels fleas and ticks for 8 months.  It is odorless, non-greasy and easy to use.  Currently there is a $15 rebate for collars purchased from our clinic.

VECTRA 3D - This is a topical product which is applied monthly.  It repels fleas and ticks.  Currently there is a mail in promotion of "Buy 3 at a time, get 1 free" and "Buy 6 at a time, get 3 free".

HEARTWORM PREVENTIVE:

HEARTGARD PLUS - This is an oral chewable administered monthly which helps prevent heartworm disease by killing heartworm larvae.  It also treats and controls roundworm and hookworms.  Many rebates are available - see our rebate list for the various combinations.

INTERCEPTOR PLUS - This is an oral tablet administered monthly which helps prevent heartworm disease and  treats and controls  adult hookworms, roundworm, whipworm and tapeworm infections in dogs and puppies 2 pounds of body weight or more  and 6 weeks of age or older.  Until September 30, 2018, receive an instant $15 discount when you buy 12 of the same size at the same time.
